Sometime. Some time. At some time this person walked the earth like you and me and is no more. These are the sort of thoughts that ramble through my head when I’m doing my thing in Recoleta Cemetery – or in this case Brompton Cemetery.

Not in a morbid way, you understand, but in an ‘I need to grab every moment of every day’ kind of way. It feels like a privilege to be here and a responsibility to squeeze the most I can out of the experience – to follow what really draws me, to express myself, connect deeply, aim for joy.

Anyway, some time ago I said I’d share with you the magnificent tomb by Burne-Jones in Brompton Cemetery, so here it is. Only a detail, but it gives you an idea. If you want to see more photographs, you can visit my page at facebook.com/TheCemeteryGirl.

What an exquisite gift to leave behind. Thank you, ship owner and patron of the arts Frederick Leyland. No need to be clever with the title here: I think this one must simply be called Some time.
I was born in Montreal in 1967, grew up in England and live between London and Buenos Aires. Like many, I came to Buenos Aires to dance tango and fell under the spell of this city where strangers talk to you, tango music seeps on to the streets and the ornate crumbling buildings speak of grander times. I love writing and crafting words – I've worked as a sub-editor for more than 20 years – and taking photographs.
