Now the hostile summer heat has waned, I can venture to Recoleta Cemetery once more. To make up for lost time, I managed two trips this week.
As always, I was in my element, catching up with some of my favourite caretakers and tombs. The excitement never fades. Recoleta Cemetery is a giant architectural playground, full of possibility, where nothing looks the same from one visit to the next.
On Wednesday, I stopped for a photo shoot with Bright Mary, who offered up a new perspective on things with her Third eye. I reckon the extra perception could come in handy as the cobwebs close in around her…
I was born in Montreal in 1967, grew up in England and live between London and Buenos Aires. Like many, I came to Buenos Aires to dance tango and fell under the spell of this city where strangers talk to you, tango music seeps on to the streets and the ornate crumbling buildings speak of grander times. I love writing and crafting words – I've worked as a sub-editor for more than 20 years – and taking photographs.
